State-of-the-art CNC milling technology
for cost-effective manufacturing

Our machine park includes state-of-the-art CNC milling machines from leading manufacturers such as HERMLE, CHIRON, and HELLER. Through automation with robotic systems and pallet storage, we enable efficient series production, even in unmanned operation. This increases capacity utilization, shortens lead times, and ensures high reproducibility for series orders.

Among others, we use:

  • HPC (High Performance Cutting) for high material removal rates
  • TPC (trochoidal milling) for material-friendly machining
  • High-speed spindles with up to 80,000 revolutions per minute for the finest contours

Machining Dimensions and Capabilities

Depending on the component geometry, we use different milling processes:

  • 3-axis milling for simple and precise contours
  • 4-axis milling for more complex machining operations involving rotational movement
  • 5-axis milling for highly complex geometries and free-form surfaces
  • 3-/4-axis machining: up to 800 × 800 × 300 mm
  • 5-axis machining: up to 400 × 400 × 300 mm

We perform:

  • 2D, 2.5D, and 3D milling operations
  • Free-form surfaces
  • Complex geometries and contours

FAQ CNC milling

CNC milling is a computer-controlled manufacturing process in which rotating milling tools remove material from a stationary workpiece to create precise shapes, contours, and surfaces. Unlike turning, the tool typically moves along various axes while the workpiece remains securely clamped in place.

CNC milling is suitable for the precise machining of a wide variety of components, ranging from simple plates and housings to complex precision components with intricate contours.

Depending on the requirements, numerous materials can be machined—including aluminum, steel, stainless steel, brass, and engineering plastics.

Yes. CNC milling is suitable for prototypes and single parts as well as for small and large series with consistently high quality.

  • Manufacturing of 3-, 4-, and 5-axis milled parts using state-of-the-art machines and equipment
  • Partially and fully automated manufacturing
  • Wide range of manufacturing capabilities, from individual parts to mass production
  • Machining of virtually all machinable materials (heat-treated steels, stainless steels, non-ferrous metals)

• 5-axis milling: 400 x 400 x 300 mm
• 3- and 4-axis milling: 800 x 800 x 300 mm

We work on 3-, 4-, and 5-axis milling machines manufactured by HERMLE, CHIRON, and HELLER.

We can produce a wide range of milled parts—high-precision, custom-made, from single parts to large-scale production runs, such as:

• Mounting, shifting, metering, or control housings
• Control and valve blocks
• Distributors and distributor housings
• Drive, adjustment, shift, or detent levers
• Control forks
• Rotor, rotor carrier / rotor mount
• Cams, control cams, shift cams
• and more

One of our core competencies is the production of 4-axis milled parts up to 100 x 100 x 100 mm on equipment capable of large-scale production.
Another area of expertise is our mastery of virtually all machinable materials, particularly stainless steels, titanium, Hastelloy, high-strength aluminum alloys, and heat-treated steels.
At HÖHN, we also have no problem machining cast and forged blanks using complex clamping techniques.
